As others have suggested in their comments, the chickens were doomed whatever way it went. The real sadness is that their deaths were wasted, they did not even get to be properly fried and eaten :)

I assume you (like me) are a vegan, or at least a vegetarian?

I've worked out I've probably eaten about 1500 chickens in my life. And about 8000 chickens eggs. And killed about 500 trout or salmon. And God only knows how many flies...and spiders, usually flattened on the skirting board by the yellow pages. Ain't killed no humans. Once threw a bucket of maggots into a river, probably 5000, all eaten alive by fish no doubt. Yes, I care about the welfare of animals as much as humans, but then even the plant next to the TV responds to light. I accidentally forgot to water a small shrub in the garden last summer and it died. Our Myrtle played hell up with me for "killing" the thing. How far do you take it and what is the cut off point. Even trees have feelings.

i will. you cant say the life of a human is worth any more than a chicken. Of course my family mean more to me than a chicken but then my family mean more to me than a stranger. if one of our chickens died id be just as sad as if a family member died. Those chickens are my family. My sister says im a psycho, my dad says im scary. Whatever though. I see all lives as equal. i could never have 160,000 lives ended in the hope it stops a disease which cud kill me, never.

Yea that's really not making any sense for keeling them. I heard China killed 50000 dogs last year because couple of people died due to rabies. How they are so cruel..

I don't think many people would equate a chicken to a human, damsel. But that doesn't necessarily mean they don't regret the loss of life.

He's not really that naive, but in some way you will always be his little girl.

Don't be too hard on him, it's just that he loves you so much and can't bear to think that life might be harsh towards you(and it will at some point). He probably just wants the same things for you that you do, but he can't quite talk to you comfortably about it.

It's not easy being a dad y'know, there's no definitive guide book. I bet you girls just run rings round him most of the time.

lol. yeah its such a huge part of LIFE XD. Specially for my DARLING sister Cherry. But i wont go into that. I was 'exploring' at 15. But not stupidly, as it was with my boyfriend Dean, who i've been with since i were 13. Things just seemed right. God i cant imagine what id do if i got pregnant, i do want kids, like 10 XD but i wana career with dyslexic/autistic/disabled kids before that or as a guide dog trainer. lol, these jobs are like, all minimum wage, but hey, theres more to life than money.
